There's a moment when I'm writing when everything feels infinite—the edges of time dissolve, emotion rises from the sacral and swirls around in the heart, and I become untethered to the human world, soaring in spirit as the pen scratches the page.
I imagine that's how the mythical Icarus felt—world below and sky surrounding him. I imagine everything felt possible, and that's why he stretched his wings in freedom, climbing higher still.
But flight is only half the story.
Because you can’t know ascension without the descent, or light without the dark. The freefall into shadow and the salvation that follows is where our awakening takes root.
This is where Searching for Icarus was born.
Three years in the making, drawn from over two decades of personal poetry, this collection is the map of a journey I didn’t know I was charting until I looked back and saw the threads—love and loss, longing and surrender, the ashes of myself and the wings I forged from them. Searching for Icarus is a collection of sacred poetry that traces the arc of spiritual awakening by exploring the delicate balance between light and shadow, the human and the divine.

The book is divided into five parts—The Call, Rise, The Descent, Rebirth, and The Becoming—each one a threshold, a reflection, a passage into a new facet of the self. A mix of micro-poetry and longer reflective pieces, each live in the tender space of flight and fall.
