Carry and Create
The Universe we individually carry is the world we collectively create.
- Susan Dawn
I recently saw the Robert Anton Wilson quote: "We have never seen a completely sane adult human."
This is what I’ve seen and have come to understand…
Every single one of us is wounded.
Judgement is at its height in our society. There is so much division that is happening and little to no room for conversation (and even less room for compassion). We are quick to react rather than allow ourselves to step back for a moment into the energy of peace. We are so eager to speak and make sure our voices are heard that we’ve forgotten how to listen—really listen, which means quieting our own mind that pre-calculates responses in order to receive the expression of another.
Our own wounding is screaming at us to be examined and healed, but instead we project onto others because it’s safer and more comforting than to sit in the unfamiliar terrain of our own self.
What if we remembered that we are all experiencing an entire universe inside of ourselves, and the universe we individually carry is the universe we collectively create?
What if instead of looking at the screaming woman in the grocery store or the belligerent man on the subway, we saw the inner little girl who was never heard or the inner little boy who was abandoned or worse.
What compassion would we hold in our hearts then?
Compassion isn’t acceptance of inappropriate behavior. But it is a component of love, and love is the driving force for healing and change.
Everyone in this world is a reflection of ourselves, giving us an opportunity to think better, react better, be better, love better.
Everything is an opportunity for us to look at ourselves and our reactions and our own trauma responses and heal and grow.
Everything is connected…
The world is wounded.
We heal it by shifting out of our pain patterns and helping each other.
